Finally!

I got my butt of the couch & to the Y today, to 'officially' start training for my 10k on Oct. 22. Better late than never. I know I can run 5k in the 30-40 min range, but I've never gone beyond that distance. Not that there wasn't a desire to, just the not sure I can.
So to see if I have what it takes, I signed up for a virtual 10k. Check out Run the Hood 2011 . Today was my first run in a while. At least 2 months. I just can't seem to get into a groove. I ran for 60 min, and covered 4.75 miles. Not bad for my first hour long run.
My speed varied between 4.5-5.5 mph.
My goal is two fold:1) to finish, 2) to finish under 1h 15 min.
My first task is how to make the treadmill let me run longer than 1 hour.
And if that wasn't enough, I just signed up for this:
